PICKLEHOLE (2025)

Inspired by the 1966 Czech New Wave film, Daisies, the dance duet Picklehole explores freewheeling femme chaos, joy rebellion, group fantasy, and of course, pickles. The work plays with creating a sexualized lens which two characters subvert through their non-cooperation. Costumes and props inspired by the pickle create an aesthetic world through which to overlap the glamorous, the goofy, and the gross. Music by Jenny Peterson incorporates and distorts the soundtrack from the 90s porn film John Wayne Bobbitt Uncut, along with original songs. Rigorous movement is also foundational to the work, built upon an intimate duet partnership grown from our decade-long collaborative relationship.
