Jenny Peterson is a visual and dance artist currently living and working in Seattle, WA. She grew up in the Chicago suburbs, spending much of her youth as a competitive gymnast. She received a B.A. in Dance and Visual Arts from the University of California, Irvine, where she focused on dance performance, video, and fine art photography. This multidisciplinary background has given her many tools with which to explore her main artistic goal, which is to create a compelling visual language while trying to be an aware and conscientious citizen of the world. Jenny has been dancing professionally in Seattle for the past 12 years, performing with many local artists, including the Pat Graney Company since 2008, and making dance work the last 7 years independently and with her collaborator Kaitlin McCarthy. Jenny is also a licensed massage therapist and super nerd. Her favorite color is orange.
